Six Weeks Building SellSwarm AI: A Progress Summary

By Thomas M. Jumper

We spent 120K on outbound leads that didn't work. So we built our own.

Six weeks ago, SellSwarm AI was not a product. It was a frustration. Across past companies, we had spent more than $120,000 on outbound agencies, SDR tools, and sales experiments. The pitch was always the same: scale outbound, book more meetings, grow faster. The reality was very different. Bloated costs. Generic messaging. Endless management overhead. More time spent fixing outbound than building the actual business.

Eventually we asked a simple question: What if outbound sales did not need SDRs at all? What if AI could do the entire job and actually get better every single day? That question became SellSwarm AI.

What we built in six weeks

We went from idea to a fully functional MVP in just three weeks. Not a demo. Not slides. A real system running in production. The speed came from heavy AI-assisted development and a ruthless focus on what actually matters for outbound to work end to end.

SellSwarm AI is deployed and live at sellswarmai.com. Anyone can see it. Anyone can use it. No stealth. No waitlists. No hiding.

The most important decision we made was to use SellSwarm to sell SellSwarm. We are actively prospecting, emailing, testing, and iterating using our own product to acquire our first customers. Every failure shows up immediately. Every win feeds directly back into the system. This has been the fastest feedback loop we have experienced while building a product.

We are currently submitting applications to accelerators including Y Combinator, TechStars, 500 Global and more. Those applications have been surprisingly valuable in sharpening both the product and the narrative.

What SellSwarm AI actually does

SellSwarm replaces the traditional SDR function entirely. The user defines their ideal customer profile. That is it. From there, the system handles everything: lead discovery, deep research on each prospect, hyper-personalized outbound emails, optimal send timing, automated A/B testing, and continuous self-optimization every four to six hours.

There are no sequences to manage. No prompts to tweak. No dashboards full of knobs. The system observes what works and adjusts on its own.

Why this matters

Outbound sales is broken. It is expensive, manual, and fragile. A single SDR can cost $80,000 to $120,000 per year when fully loaded. Agencies lock companies into retainers and still produce generic output.

We built the solution we wished we had. SellSwarm costs roughly one-tenth of an SDR and improves every single day. No burnout. No turnover. More importantly, incentives are finally aligned. The system only succeeds if it produces results. If it does not work, we feel it immediately because we rely on it ourselves.

What surprised us most

How quickly AI can self-improve when feedback loops are tight. How much outbound success comes down to timing and context rather than volume. How much wasted effort exists in traditional SDR workflows. How powerful dogfooding is when the product directly affects revenue.

What comes next

The next phase is simple and hard at the same time. Onboard early customers. Keep sharpening results. Let the system learn across industries. Stay obsessed with real outcomes rather than vanity metrics.

This is still early. But six weeks in, SellSwarm AI feels less like an experiment and more like a new category starting to take shape. If outbound sales has ever frustrated you, we are building this for you.
